Consent

"Consent occurs when one person voluntarily agrees to the proposal or desires of another.^[1] It is a term of common speech, but may have more specific definitions in such fields as the law, medicine, research, and sexual relationships" that's how Wikipedia and most dictionaries/ websites defines it.

let's break this down, the most dangerous and yet common way that women are abused is sexually and I was having a deep conversation with my male relatives about the word "Consent" take a look at this picture.

We are taught from an early age that "No means No" particularly in sexual relationships but after a lot of research in my community and social media I've realized that a broader more deeper conversation about what consent is or what it means needs to be had in communities and schools.

The absence of the word "Yes" does not mean "Yes" and the absence of the word "No" also does not mean "Yes" and anything in between does not mean "Yes"The only thing that mean "Yes" is "YES!!!!!(verbally) and yes that does mean you constantly have to make sure that your female partner is still okay with what's happening or they still want this.

This might come as a shock to most people and it also came as a surprise to many people and it also came as a surprise to males who participated in my research, your female partner has the right to change her mind at anytime. meaning at anytime of your sexual relations if your partner is not comfortable with it ends there!

but in reality you cannot be accused of wrong doing if you didn't know it was wrong so this for me is where I feel our society needs to desensitize sex talk and educate both men and women
